I truly love Oh Happy Day's beautiful use of cake plates. In fact, right now I am bidding on a mosser milk glass cake plate on ebay. I am normally big into design being functional. As far I can tell these cake stands are just decoration. You could get a clear glass cake cover to give it a little bit of function. The multiple cake stand idea is so visually pleasing to me that I could care less about function at the moment. It goes too show that there may be a little bit of give in your convictions.
