Detox: Day 4

Fortunately, Day 4 did not involve any juice drinking. After 16 ounces of juice on Day 3, I needed a break.

Detox Day 4 Menu:
7am (or upon rising): Glass of room temperature lemon water
8am: Herbal tea
10am (breakfast): Mango and Coconut Milk Smoothie (follow method for
Blueberry and Almond Smoothie)
11:30am: Coconut water
1:30pm (lunch): Miso Soup with Watercress
4pm (snack): A handful of blueberries
6pm (dinner): Steamed Salmon and Greens

Cayenne's Real Menu:
9am (or upon rising): Glass of room temperature lemon water
10am (breakfast): Raspberry/Strawberry and Almond Milk Smoothie
11am: Green tea
Noon: YOGA (ashtanga vinyasa)
1:30pm (lunch): Miso Soup with Watercress
3pm (snack): handful sunflower and pumpkin seeds
5:30pm (mini-dinner): 3 ounces Steamed Salmon and Greens
7:30pm (mini-dinner): 3 ounces Steamed Salmon and Greens
9pm (snack): 1/3 cup frozen blueberries and 1/4 cup rice milk slushy
? (snack): random raisins

I almost quit on Day 4. I had those extra blueberries (plus the random raisins) and I felt better. I figured so what if I go outside the menu a bit at least I am not eating any refined sugar, preservatives, or grains. I think it was a mental block about Day 5, which looks to be the hardest. Finishing Day 5 will certainly put me over the hump in this 7-day detox. I am ready Day 5 of DETOX. Bring. It. On!

I think you should go to In-and-Out Burger after this diet is over! In fact, yesterday during my yoga class, I was thinking about how nice it would be to go In-and-Out Burger (if only we had them out here)!

Hello! I'm very impressed by your attempt at this cleanse. I only came across the newsletter on GOOP yesterday and was really interested in trying it too. I went out and bought most of the ingredients, saving the harder ingredients for today's outing. My big mistake was not printing out the newsletter...the page is now gone! Would you, by any chance, have a copy of the diet and recipes? If yes, are you willing to send it to me? I'd like to give it a try and then read the rest of your hilarious posting! Thanks, Mary email: universallyscrewed@gmail.com

Hi,

Thanks for trying out the cleanse for all of us! I was hoping to try the recipes, do the cleanse, and maybe integrate the best tasting recipes into my regular diet. As you know, the recipes aren't published any more! Would you please send them to me?

Thanks so much and happy new year!!

Willa

PS: Would you mind not making my email address public? Thanks again!

I would love to try this detox with you! I read the GOOP newsletter just the other day, but then (today) when I decided to give it a try and went to print it, it was gone! If you still have them, would you mind sending them to me?
